SEX WORKER GODDESS OF THE YEAR

Sex-Worker-Goddess

Melissa Petro took one small step for women and a giant leap for sex workers. The former sex worker and current Bronx art teacher did the unthinkable according to her co-workers. She admitted that she was a former sex worker. Her bravery is unparalleled to none. For this reason, Sex Worker Talk Radio.com crowns her the “Sex Worker Goddess of the Year”. Not only did she jeopardize her 61,000 dollar a year job by admitting her former sex worker profession, but she was ready, willing and looking forward to the conformation.

Labeling herself a writer and an activist, she refused to denounce her former profession. She told the Huffington Post that in 2006 and 2007 she accepted money for sexual services. The parents from P.S 70 immediately attacked her. While I agree that not knowing about her former occupation would come as a major shock to an unsuspecting parent, I totally disagree with the masses that her former lifestyle would somehow taint her ability to teach kids with her morality still in tack. Think about all the hypocrites that lie and still deny even when caught red-handed. She didn’t deny it. And the fact that she didn’t reveal it before taking that job is irrelevant. She’s never been arrested and she didn’t break no code of ethics in art class.

Sexworkertalkradio.com salutes Melissa for not being Petro in regards to sex work and the double standards that all women face. She’s not only a sex worker goddess; she’s a goddess for women’s rights. This is a woman that holds a MFA in creative non-fiction. I’m anxiously awaiting the book. Support a loyal former sex worker. They say God is love, so a goddess is the beauty of that love. Melissa Petro, the Goddess, writer and activist, who is not afraid. We got your back ma!
