Alexis Wright found herself on the wrong side of the law when her Zumba fitness studio was raided on prostitution charges. Her co-defendant and insurance agent, Mark Strong Sr., copped a plea and served 15 days and was released earlier this month. Alexis Wright has since pled guilty and is expected to receive a ten-month slap on the wrist.
The media is making a movie outta this case. She was a fitness instructor who supplemented her income with sex-work. Big fucking deal! If these so-called happily married gentleman got what they needed at home there wouldn’t be a need for Alexis Wright’s services, u feel me? Alexis, consider your sentence a blessing. Most Sex Workers caught up in these scandals are not as fortunate to spend less than a year in jail and return back to society.
Let me be clear: anytime away from your family and friends is too much time—a day, 25 days, 10 months—whatever! But sometimes we have to take our lemons and make lemonade. Alexis Wright and numerous Sex Workers like her need to take heed: make better decisions. Legal sex-work exists. It’s your job to create and find it.
