A pimp for Megan Waterman, the Sex Worker who was found dead with nine other Sex Workers on a beach in the outskirts of Long Island, NY, was sentenced to three years in prison. Brooklyn resident Akeem Cruz, learned the meaning of “it’s hard out here for a pimp”, when Federal Judge Edward Korman gave him a year longer that the 24 months requested by the prosecution.
Mr. Cruz did not kill Megan but the judge felt he put her in harm’s way by having her prostitute for him. He pled guilty to trafficking women from Maine to New York. Mr. Cruz was the last person with Megan on the night she disappeared. The judge said before handing down his sentence, “He’s not directly responsible for her murder but he put her in the zone of danger.” This is a perfect example of the dangers associated with the game.
Pimpin’ is illegal, so Mr. Cruz gotta take that one on the chin and brush his shoulders off because it could have been a lot worse. Megan’s murder is still unsolved and we don’t know what kind of relationship she had with Mr.Cruz but public opinion has already been the judge and the jury. Make sure if sex-work is your thing, you handle your business like a professional. Verify names and addresses. In your personal affairs with a boyfriend, pimp or whatever you want to call dude, just make sure you’re happy and you’re working on your own free will.
