Anna Gristina, the so-called soccer mom madam is learning the hard way why it’s important to keep your inner circle small and above all else, be skeptical of everyone. In the on-going prostitution probe, Anna is watching friends turn to enemies right before her eyes. A cynic doesn’t trust and walks away. A skeptic doesn’t trust but keeps asking questions. It’s important to question everyone regardless of how close you are to the person.
Anna’s accountant, Jonas Gayer, had been doing business with her for years. Jonas Gayer was arrested in March 2010 and charged with money laundering and promoting prostitution. Let this be a word to the wise, people who you spent most of your time with can do you the most harm. They never tell you everything. Don’t expect them to. Mr. Gayer set up a meeting with a Morgan Stanley banker on behalf of Anna supposedly under the disguise of helping her go legit. He was supposed to attend the meeting with them but the police took his place arresting Anna.
Gristina wanted to start an online dating service and was looking for investors. Let this be a lesson to all- “in prosperity we know our friends, in adversity our friends know us” a wise man once said that. Every Sex Worker can learn from this. Anna had businesses with her accountant going back at least 10 years. They were friends long before that. Do you think Mr. Gayer took any of that into consideration when he decided to cooperate against her?
The case is not federal which usually carries more time. He folded immediately which tells me he wanted to commit crimes but don’t want to do anytime. I will be following this case closely. Investing your money and staying legit is always the best option.
